The EQ-5D-5L is a widely used generic measure of health-related quality of life. It assesses five dimensions: mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort, and anxiety/depression. Each dimension is rated on a scale that reflects the patient's perceived health status, allowing for a comprehensive overview of their quality of life. The EQ-5D-5L also includes a visual analog scale (VAS) where patients can rate their overall health on a scale from 0 to 100. This tool facilitates comparisons across different populations and conditions, making it invaluable for health economic evaluations and benchmarking.





The PAID‐5 (Problem Areas In Diabetes-5) questionnaire is specifically designed to assess the emotional aspects of living with diabetes. It evaluates diabetes-related distress, which can significantly impact a patient’s ability to manage their condition. The PAID-5 consists of five questions that capture feelings of worry, frustration, and concern related to diabetes management. By identifying these emotional challenges, healthcare providers can offer targeted support and resources to improve patients' overall well-being.









In alignment with our Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital strategy and the Value-Based Care (VBC) program, we initiated a cardiac-focused model to improve outcomes and patient value.
The CAD program aims to move beyond volume of services to focus on outcomes, experience, and cost efficiency.
A multidisciplinary team was formed, including Clinical, Nursing, Patient Experience, Quality, IT, and Bupa representatives.
Together, we co-designed the care model to ensure integrated, value-driven care for cardiac patients.

Saudi Arabia has incorporated this perspective into its Vision 2030 strategic direction for the Kingdom. A framework provided by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement is now widely accepted to guide the health system, and the Quadruple Aim sets out four priorities:
