· Early detection of dental issues is crucial for effective treatment. Regularly examine clients for signs of dental caries, periodontal disease, malocclusion,and oral abnormalities. Diagnose and treat these conditions promptly to prevent further oral health complications.
· Provide guidance on the role of nutrition in maintaining optimal oral health. Counsel clients on the importance of a balanced diet, limiting sugary or acidic food sand beverages, increasing water intake, and ensuring sufficient intake of key-nutrients vital for healthy teeth and gums.
· Conduct routine oral cancer screenings to detect any signs or symptoms of early-stageoral cancer. Educate clients about the risk factors associated with oral cancer, ways to reduce these risks, and the importance of regular screenings.
· Educate clients about the importance of regular dental check-ups, good oral hygiene practices, and the connection between oral health and overall wellness. Promote preventive measures, including the use of protective mouth guards during sports activities and the avoidance of harmful oral habits.
· Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as physicians, nutritionists, and psychologists, to provide integrated care to clients. In wellness-focused practices, a multidisciplinary approach ensures that clients receive comprehensive healthcare with a focus on overall well-being.
· Accurately document clients' oral health history, examination findings, treatment plans,and progress notes in electronic or paper records.
· Maintain client confidentiality and comply with relevant regulatory guidelines regarding record-keeping.
· Engage in ongoing professional development, keeping abreast of the latest advancements in dental technology, preventive techniques, and wellness approaches.
· Holds at least a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree.
· Hold valid Saudi certification as a general dentist.
· Have at least five years of post-qualification clinical experience working as a general dentist, preferably in a wellness-focused setting.
· Advanced courses or postgraduate programs focused on preventive dentistry, nutrition in dentistry, or integrative dental medicine is preferred.
· Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients is vital in preventive-dentistry. Dentists should possess exceptional communication skills to educate and motivate clients about the importance of preventive practices, oral hygiene, and overall wellness.
· Prioritize client well-being and take a holistic approach to dental care. Demonstrating empathy, active listening, and a genuine concern for clients' oral health andoverall well-being is key.
· Display understanding the importance of nutrition, lifestyle factors, and the incorporation of innovative preventative interventions into their practice.
