Studies

  • After earning her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Khartoum in Khartoum, Sudan in 1992, Dr.Salih was awarded the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (MROCG) certificate in 2005, London, UK, after passing the MROCG exams intended for those who wish to specialize in Obstetrics & Gynecology. The MRCOG is also internationally respected as the gold standard qualification for career progression in obstetrics & gynecology. Recently in 2013, Dr.Salih acquired the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (RCOG), after successfully completing the speciality training programme in obstetrics & gynecology which is approved by the General Medical Council (GMC). She aims to provide excellence in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care resulting in safe motherhood. She achieved advanced training by RCOG in labour ward practice in 2011. She also has a passion for teaching and is an RCOG certified educator.

Work Experience

  • Dr.Amira had a broad base specialist training rotating through teaching hospitals, district general hospitals and tertiary centres in UK. It encompassed all aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology. From 2011 to 2013, Dr.Amira held the position of a specialist registrar (SpR) at the obstetrics & gynecology department at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax, UK, where she later served as a specialist Rregistrar (SpR) post the CCT programme at the obstetrics & gynecology department at the same hospital from 2013 through 2015, before settling in Saudi Arabia and joining DSFH. Prior to that, Dr.Amira used to serve as a senior house officer at the obstetrics & gynecology department at Kettering General Hospital in Kettering, UK in 1994 and later at the obstetrics & gynecology department at Dewsbury & District Hospital in Dewsbury, UK in the year 2000 for a short period, before she continued the position at the obstetrics & gynecology department at the Halifax Hospital in Halifax, UK, between 2000 and 2004. After that, Dr.Amira served as a specialist registrar (SpR) at the obstetrics & gynecology department at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax in 2004, then she continued the same position at the obstetrics & gynecology department at the Hull Royal Infirmary in Hull, UK in 2006. and later at the obstetrics & gynecology department at the Scarborough Hospital in Scarborough, UK, between 2010 and 2011.
