The Fetal Care Clinic is aspecialized clinic dedicated to the management of high-risk pregnancies,particularly cases involving suspected fetal anomalies, genetic disorders, orcomplex maternal medical conditions.

We provide comprehensive prenatalcare through a multidisciplinary medical team, aiming for early diagnosis,coordinated care planning, and a smooth transition from the prenatal topostnatal period. Our goal is to ensure safe delivery planning and provideintegrated support with individualized care plans for every family.

Clinic Services

The clinic offers advanced consultations in fetal medicine and neonatology, as well as prenatal counseling and family support.

Services include multidisciplinary birth planning in coordination with:

  • Obstetrics and Gynecology specialists
  • Neonatologists

The clinic also provides early planning for postnatal care, helping optimize health outcomes for newborn srequiring specialized medical support after birth.

Referral Criteria

Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinics– Mezzanine Floor

Referrals are welcomed for cases requiring specialized expertise in fetal and neonatal medicine, including the following:

Pregnant women with significant medical conditions that may affect fetal health, including:

  • Uncontrolled diabetes or gestational diabetes and its fetal complications
  • Chronic or pregnancy-related hypertension
  • Autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus or antiphospholipid syndrome
  • Thyroid disorders affecting fetal development
  • Maternal infections that may impact the fetus, such as TORCH infections or HIV
  • Exposure to teratogenic agents during pregnancy

Cases with an unfavorable obstetric history, including:

  • Recurrent pregnancy loss (three or more miscarriages)
  • Intrauterine fetal demise
  • Previous preterm birth related to fetal complications
2. Fetal-Related Factors

Cases involving suspected or confirmed fetal abnormalities identified through prenatal imaging, including:

  • Structural anomalies such as congenital heart defects, neural tube defects, or skeletal dysplasia
  • Fetal growth disorders such as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR)
  • Congenital infections or signs of fetal hydrops

Genetic or chromosomal concerns, including:

  • Positive non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) results
  • Suspected or confirmed chromosomal abnormalities such as Trisomy 21, 18, or 13
  • Previous pregnancies affected by confirmed genetic conditions

Complex multiple pregnancies, including:

  • Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS)
  • Selective fetal growth restriction
  • Discordant fetal anomalies
3. Familial and Genetic Risk Factors

Cases involving:

  • Family history of genetic disorders
  • Parents who are carriers of known genetic conditions such as sickle cell disease or thalassemia
  • Previous child with a congenital anomaly or genetic disorder

Cases requiring multidisciplinary coordination, including:

  • Genetic counseling and prenatal testing
  • Pediatric neurology or neurosurgery consultations for central nervous system anomalies
  • Pediatric cardiology evaluation for congenital heart disease
  • Perinatal palliative care planning for severe or life-limiting conditions
