Dr. Hesham Hosni Abdul Rahman is anophthalmology consultant at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. He is also the Chairman of the Ophthalmology Department at DSFH and a skilled physician with expertise in patient treatment in the area of cornea and refractive surgery, successfully performing numerous surgical specialties and procedures such asglaucoma surgery, argon laser surgery, phacoemulsification surgery, cornealcross linking, corneal rings, YAG laser surgery, pterygium surgery and minoroculus procedures in addition to keratoplasty and phakic intraocular lensimplantation.
Afterearning his medical degree with honors from Kasr El-Eini Medical School at Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt in 1991, Dr. Hesham immediately joined a master’s degree program in ophthalmology,which he successfully completed in 1996 at the same university, where hepursued his postgraduate studies to obtain the doctoral degree in ophthalmologyin 1999. Furthermore, Dr. Hesham is certified from both the educational commission for Foreign Medical Graduates Program Part 1 & amp; 2, USA in 1993 and the International Council of Ophthalmology Program Part 1 & amp; 2,UK in 1999, before completing a fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK, in the year 2000
Dr. Hesham interned at Kasr El-Eini Medical School at Cairo University from 1991 to 1993, and went on to serve as a resident in ophthalmology at Kasr El-Einimedical school at the same university in 1993. In addition, he later held aposition on the teaching staff and taught medical students in ophthalmology since 1996, as he served as an assistant lecturer of ophthalmology, followed by apromotion to lecturer of ophthalmology in the year 1999. Nowadays, Dr. Hesham currently serves as an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the same university since he was assigned in the year 2004.
