- Prof. Jamal obtained his medical degree from Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine, Cairo, Egypt in 1969.

Work Experience
- Prof. Jamal started as an Intern at Ain Shams University Hospital in 1976,
- then served as a house officer in otorhinolaryngology for a year at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah in 1977,
- before moving to continue the same position in the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in Dublin in 1979,
- where he then served as a registrar in otorhinolaryngology in 1983,
- before returning to King Abdulaziz University Hospital as a senior registrar in otorhinolaryngology in 1988,
- Then promoted to consultant in otorhinolaryngology in 1989 at the same university hospital.
- Nowadays, Prof. Jamal is a senior consultant in the otorhinolaryngology department at same university hospital since he was assigned in the year 2000.
- In addition, during his tenure in King Abdulaziz University, he held a teaching position as an associate professor.
